Program Details

- Duration: Up to 10 months for Bachelor’s and Master’s studies; up to 11 months for PhD programmes.
- Number of Scholarships: One application per candidate per open call.

Latvia Government Scholarship Benefits
Recipients receive a monthly stipend to help cover living expenses during their studies. The scholarship amounts vary by level:
- Bachelor’s Students: €500 per month (also applicable for 2nd level professional higher education students in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd study years).
- Master’s Students: €600 per month (and for 2nd level professional higher education students starting from the 4th study year).
- PhD Students: €700 per month.
Note : The scholarship does not cover tuition fees, travel expenses, or insurance costs. Students are expected to cover additional expenses related to living costs and must arrange their own insurance. Additionally, if a student is in Latvia for fewer than 15 calendar days, the scholarship will not be granted.

Latvia Government Scholarship Eligibility
To qualify for a Latvian State Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of one of the 39 eligible countries partnering with Latvia.
- For Bachelor’s applicants: Successfully complete at least one academic year at any higher education institution.
- For Master’s or PhD candidates: Hold a degree from a previous higher education institution.
- Secure a study programme at a Latvian higher education institution and obtain a confirmation letter from the designated contact person before applying.
- Be eligible to receive the scholarship for a maximum of two terms during your studies.
- Submit only one complete application per open call; concurrent awards with other grants are not permitted.

How to Apply for the Latvia Government Scholarship
The application process is conducted entirely online through an electronic application system. Follow these steps to complete your application:
- Registration: Create your profile in the system by registering with a unique login and password. Please click here to access the online platform.
- Application Form: Complete the online application form according to the specified criteria. Incomplete or incorrect applications will not be evaluated.
- Document Submission: Attach the following documents. Ensure that documents are translated into Latvian or English if necessary.
