Applications are open for admission to graduate programs at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology for the next semester’s intakes. DGIST Scholarship for Graduate Students is awarded to admitted Korean and international students in graduate programs. Candidates who would like to benefit from this scholarship should apply and get admitted to one of the university’s graduate programs.

The scholarship provides a fully funded and partially funded schemes for studies in a wide range of programs (science, engineering, and technology) offered by the university. Candidates can choose to study in a Master, PhD, or Integrated MS-PhD degree program.

Founded in 2004 by the Korean government, the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) is a research-oriented university located in Daegu Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea. Selected candidates for the DGIST scholarship will have the following benefits:

DGIST Scholarship

Student pursuing a degree in the department receives scholarship to cover the full or partial cost of their education for graduate school funded by scholarship funds, external funding sources, or research funds.

  1. Tuition : 7,280,000 KRW
  2. Stipend (Set amounts vary by personal research achievements and research activities)
    • MS. Program: A minimum of 15,000,000 KRW / year plus Extra incentive
    • PhD Program: A minimum of 22,000,000 KRW / year plus Extra incentive
  3. Housing on campus is available for graduate students (Single room, double room, apartment for married students)
    • Single room 200,000 KRW/month
    • Double room 150,000 KRW/month
    • Apartment for married students 300,000 KRW/month.

Applicable Departments: Interdisciplinary Engineering of Interdisciplinary Studies, Artificial Intelligence of Interdisciplinary Studies, Biomedical Science & Engineering of Interdisciplinary Studies, Quantum Information Science of Interdisciplinary Studies.

General Scholarship Students

General Scholarships are offered to students pursuing a degree in various departments to cover the full or partial cost of education (funded by domestic and international businesses, research and educational institutes, etc.)

  1. Department : Physics and Chemistry, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering, Energy Science and Engineering, Brain Sciences, New Biology, Artificial Intelligence Major in Interdisciplinary Studies.
  2. Full Tuition (7,280,000 KRW/semester)
  3. Not applicable for Stipend
  4. Housing on campus is available for graduate students (Single room, double room, apartment for married students)
    • Single room 200,000 KRW/month
    • Double room 150,000 KRW/month
    • Apartment for married students 300,000 KRW/month.

DGIST Scholarship for Graduate Students Eligibility

To benefit from this university scholarship, applicants must be admitted to a graduate program at DGIST. Therefore, applicants must:

  1. Meet admission requirements of their respective department;
  2. A research project is required for receiving stipend;
  3. Master program applicants must be candidates who have a bachelor’s degree or are expected to complete their bachelor’s degrees by February 2025 (for Spring admission) or by August 2025 (for Fall admission);
  4. PhD program applicants must be candidates who have a master’s degree or are expected to complete their master’s degrees by February 2025 (for Spring admission) or by August 2025 (for Fall admission);
  5. English language requirements (optional).
