Call for Applications–FRONTIERS Science Journalism Residency Programme
Call for Applications – The FRONTIERS Science Journalism Residency Programme, funded by the European Research Council, invites early-career science journalists to apply for Round 3 of its fully funded, 3 to 5-month immersive residencies at leading European research institutions. Up to ten fellowships are available in this round. The programme supports in-depth, independent reporting on frontier research across all scientific fields, including the social sciences and humanities. It is part of a broader initiative running from 2023 to 2026, which will award up to 40 fellowships with a total funding allocation of €600,000.

Eligibility Criteria
For Journalists:
-
Up to 5 years of professional experience
-
Work across any media format (print, digital, broadcast, etc.)

Produce independent, original journalism
-
Full-time availability during the residency
For Host Institutions:
-
Based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country
-
Involved in frontier research across any discipline
-
Able to provide institutional support and ensure editorial independence
