ITU160 Gender Champions Initiative: Empowering Young Women in Digital Transformation

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in partnership with the Government of Canada, is excited to announce the ITU160 Gender Champions initiative, celebrating ITU’s 160th anniversary. This initiative invites young women who are making significant contributions to digital transformation and development to participate in a global opportunity in Geneva.

About the ITU160 Gender Champions Initiative

This initiative offers young women aged 18–25, working in the field of digital development and digital transformation, the chance to attend the WSIS+20 High-Level Event, the AI for Good Global Summit, and ITU’s 160th Anniversary commemorations from 7–11 July 2025. Participants will have their travel and accommodations covered for the duration of the event in Geneva, Switzerland.

Who Should Apply?

The ITU160 Gender Champions initiative is open to young women from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from developing countries, least developed countries, landlocked developing countries, small island developing states, as well as young indigenous women and women with disabilities. This initiative aims to ensure a broad representation of voices in shaping the future of digital transformation and development.
