2025 EarthEcho Youth Leadership Council: Join a Global Network of Young Environmental Leaders

Are you a passionate young environmental advocate looking to make a real difference in ocean conservation? EarthEcho International invites you to apply for the 2025 Youth Leadership Council (YLC)—a powerful platform for young leaders ages 15–22 to drive global environmental change.

What is the EarthEcho Youth Leadership Council?

Founded by Philippe Cousteau Jr., EarthEcho International empowers youth to protect and restore our ocean planet. The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is a dynamic group of young leaders selected annually to play a vital role in shaping EarthEcho’s programs. As a YLC member, you’ll help implement campaigns, participate in leadership activities, and collaborate with youth advocates globally through GenSea, EarthEcho’s digital platform.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Selected YLC members will:

  • Serve a two-year term

  • Dedicate at least 8 hours per month to YLC activities

  • Participate in monthly video calls and small group projects

  • Plan and attend the Youth Ambassador Retreat and YLC annual meeting (August 6–10, 2025, in the U.S.—all expenses covered)

  • Lead and organize the Youth Leadership Summit 2026

  • Actively engage on the GenSea platform and promote youth-led ocean advocacy

  • Represent EarthEcho at events and contribute to social media and digital content

  • Collaborate on EarthEcho’s campaigns like OceanEcho 30×30 and GenSea

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 15–22 at the time of application

  • Show leadership experience and passion for environmental conservation

  • Have an understanding of ocean, climate, and environmental issues

  • Possess strong English communication skills

  • Be able to work collaboratively with diverse teams

International applicants are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted through GenSea, EarthEcho’s global youth platform.

During the application, you will:

  • Respond to a series of essay questions (with an optional video response)

  • Provide a reference from a non-family member

  • Submit the application by May 5, 2025, 11:59 PM EDT
